Don Houghton Jr.'s Houghtonanny - Free ukulele lessons

Don Houghton Jr.’s Houghtonanny

A Hootenanny is a Scottish word meaning “celebration” and / or “party”, most closely associated with Hogmanay—the Scots New Year celebration which, traditionally, is the biggest celebration on the Scottish calendar. A Houghtonanny is Don’s version of the Scottish Hootenanny.

Don Houghton, local resident and professional educator, will entertain us with his version of a hootenanny.

Having rubbed elbows with Peter Yarrow (Peter, Paul & Mary) and Arlo Guthrie and entertaining on Pete Seeger’s “Clearwater” sloop this past summer, Don Houghton Jr. returns to our market to entertain us.

“Come sing along with Don – he’ll have the song books.”

PS – Learning to play the ukulele? He’ll be happy to provide a free lesson.
